About the Albany Med Health System:
The Albany Med Health System is the largest and only regionally governed, not-for-profit health system in northeastern New York and western New England. The System is built on the strengths of each member, including the extraordinary role each plays in its community. At the same time, the System makes Albany Medical Center’s advanced care readily available to patients from the mid-Hudson Valley to the North Country. In essence, patients have the best of both worlds. This means access to community-based care from physicians they know and trust and easy access to the highly specialized services of the region’s only academic medical center. About the Beta Psi Foundation:
The Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Founded on May 15, 1904, also known as the Boulé, which in Ancient Greece was a “Council of Chiefs,” is the oldest continuously existing Greek-letter post-graduate fraternity founded initially by and primarily for eminent black professional men and later similar professional men of African descent throughout the world. Its founders were six exceptional men, four medical doctors, one dentist, and one pharmacist, who at that time was a second-year medical school student. These men recognized the advantages of belonging to a particular fraternity that would enhance and support professional careers and social relationships while providing leadership and assistance to facilitate the enhancement and elevation of such underserved black communities as those from which they mostly came and in which they professionally existed.

The Beta Psi Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Beta Psi Boulé, the local chapter of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, located in Albany, NY. The foundation serves as a vehicle for members and other prospective donors to make tax-deductible contributions to support efforts to provide scholarships and educational opportunities for young African American students within our community. The foundation also supports our member Boulé’s strategic plan for various other initiatives, such as Financial Literacy, Economic Empowerment, Civic Engagement, and Social Justice.

The Trustees are committed to providing resources to build a generation prepared to face the responsibilities and challenges of the twenty-first century. Through scholarships and grants, the Beta Psi Foundation is helping to nurture and support our young people to ensure that they lead us to a meaningful and prosperous future.
